The line-up for the first ever York Comedy Festival has been announced.
Attracting some of the best UK comedians the week-long festival is set to take
place in York this June
Headlining the festival will be
Irish comedian and Perrier Award Winner Tommy Tiernan. Launching the week is an
exclusive line-up of Omid Djalili, Boothby Graffoe and Lee Mack.
Other
comedians appearing include Daniel Kitson, Hattie Hayridge, Dominic Frisby, Ian
Cognito, Tim Vine, Jimmy Cricket, Norman Lovett, Rhod Gilbert and the Natural
Theatre Company.
The festival which runs from the 23rd to 29th June also
includes many fringe events such as plays, art exhibitions, films and talks
all of them funny. There will also be a ground breaking new talent
competition, showcasing the best up and coming young
comedians.
Spokesperson Tom Sharp says "We're delighted with the line-up
for the first ever York Comedy Festival. There's something for everyone and
wešve attracted some of the best performers in the country. People coming to the
festival really are going to be spoilt for choice."
