EDDIE
IZZARD, double Emmy-Award-winning comedian, Tony-nominated actor and
iconoclastic master of the surreal, is hitting the road again with a new world
tour and one-man show, fittingly titled SEXIE.
Prior to this tour, his first in nearly three years, Eddie
will be visiting Warwick Arts Centre on MONDAY 7 JULY to help
develop new material for his show.
Over the last few years Eddie has starred in three Hollywood
movies, 'All the Queens Men', 'The Cats Meow' and soon to be released
'Blueberry'; a Channel 4 drama '40' - shown in April, and can currently be seen
in the critically acclaimed documentary 'Mongrel Nation'. He has also been
hugely successful on stage and gave a Tony nominated performance in the revival
of 'A Day in the Death of Joe Egg' in the West End and more recently on
Broadway.
EDDIE IZZARD is a multi-talented superstar
par excellence. His career started in Covent Garden piazza, soon after it
took off when he talked nonsense for 13 weeks at the Ambassadors Theatre in 1993
and won an Olivier Award on the back of it. He's also had a double-Emmy, a
BVA and a BCA, to add to the BCG he got when he was 14, and the MMR he was given
when he was a baby.
In New Zealand he was once described as 'Awesome in the true
sense of the word'. Unhappily, according to Chambers Dictionary, one of the true
senses of 'awesome' is 'dreadful', but other reviews would suggest that wasn't
what the reviewer meant.
Others suggest that he is 'The funniest man on the planet'
(The Irish Times). And of course, let's not forget 'he's the world's most
famous comic in a dress' (Time Out London).
To be one the first to experience EDDIE
IZZARD in his brand new show SEXIE, book NOW or
perhaps wait another three years, by calling Warwick Arts Centre Box Office on
