The organisers of the Babycham Funny
Women Comedy Awards are very proud to announce the first ten finalists - ever - in this brand new competition.
The
judges have been overwhelmed by the sheer variety and high standard of all the
competitors. Each showcase has been given a warm response from a mixed crowd and
the competitors have been supported all the way through from beginning to end.
The final is open to everyone and the ten that you will be able to see at
the at the Comedy Store on Monday 7th July are:

the Store on: 0870 060 2340 at £10 each (all the
money goes straight to breast cancer charities), and as well as the above
fantastic artists the night will be MC'd by Jo Caulfield with Jo Enright doing a
set of her latest material. It will be a good chance to see many comedians
before they go off to Edinburgh.
Plus, the winner will be announced at the end of the night having been
judged by: Doon Mackichan from Smack the Pony, Steve Bennett from Chortle, Mel
Brodie, Editor of M Celebs, Stephanie Merritt from the Observer and agent Hannah
Chambers. Plus LivingTV's Celebrity Extra will be there filming history in the
making.
The competition has been made possible by Babycham, which celebrates its
50th Birthday in 2003.
