Eddie Izzard was yesterday made an Honorary Doctor of Letters by the
University of East Anglia. He was awarded the honour at the university's
Norwich campus in recognition of his charity work.
Back in April this year, when the plan to give Eddie the award was announced,
a spokeswoman for the comedian said "Eddie is delighted, but a little bemused by
it."
However, we believe that the perks now available to Doctor Izzard outweigh
any other concerns he may have. Now, if he is on a plane and an
annoucement is is made requesting: "Is there a doctor on the plane", Eddie can
run forward (maybe wearing a stethoscope of some sort) without any fear of a
malpractice suit being filed, which would otherwise be a risk in such a
situation. He may also be able to park in disabled parking spaces, as long
as he puts a green flashing light on his car.
