Despite a campaign of powerful attacks by the coalition of comedy
critics, "Comedy Terrorist" Aaron Barschak returned to the stage today after
cancelling yesterday's show due to "exhaustion" (although we believe he
fled Edinburgh with his life and was hiding in a cave deep in the outer
hebridies, recording video postcards for the world's media).
Barschak, who thrust himself into the public eye earlier this year after
gate-crashing Prince Williams 21st birthday party, took to the stage at
2.45pm in front of an audience of around 40 people. However, six or
seven of these audience members had an ulterior motive for attending and
around half way through Barschak's act decided to give him a taste of his own
medicine.
The "Hi-jackers", wearing "Comedy Alliance" T-Shirts, and a Saddam Hussein
impersonator, leapt on to the stage, wrestled Barschak to the ground and began
to wrap him in masking tape. They then thanked the crowd and left.
Addmitedly Barschak had invited such attacks in several statements and
interviews so it was just a matter of time before somebody took him up on
it. Upon recovering his microphone he told the audience "That's what
comedy terrorism is all about!".
