Hit film, Legally Blonde, is currently being adapted into a stage musical due for theatrical release in 2005.

The 2001 surprise success, starring Reese Witherspoon as a blonde beauty who defies stereotyping to successfully study law at Harvard, is to follow the likes of The Full Monty and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to receive the film-to-theatre treatment and is being scripted by Heather Hach who recently wrote the screenplay to the 2003 remake of Freaky Friday.

It is to be directed and choreographed by Tony Award nominated Jerry Mitchell, who worked on the stage adaptations of Hairspray and The Full Monty, with music and lyrics by Larry O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin.
