David Schwimmer is to make his West End debut in a new play by Neil LaBute.
He will be playing an emotionally crippled womaniser in "Some Girls" at the
Gielgud Theatre.
Schwimmer, best known for playing Ross in the US sitcom Friends (in which he
played an emotionally crippled history professor with a real problem in holding
a relationship) has been quoted as saying "It's always been my dream to act in a
play in London."
He follows other high profile US actors such as Kevin Spacey, Kim Cattrall,
Holly Hunter and Joshua Jackson in appearing in English theatres.
Schwimmer set up his own theatre company in the US, Lookingglass Theatre,
when he left university in 1988.
