Harry Potter may have given us all a better understanding of what life must
be like at a public boarding school (although we're still not really sure what
"Fagging the prefect" means), but has J K Rowling taught us anything about
living in Ankh Morpork? The lost continent of XXXX? The 5th
Elephant? No. For that we have had to rely on Terry Pratchett over
the years.
But "what of the people who can't read his excellent books?" I hear you
ask. The people who have super-glued the palms of their hands together and
can no-longer hold a novel.... The people who have accidentally learnt
to read in the wrong language.... The untold millions who have an irrational
fear of page-numbers. Well, worry no longer, as Terry Pratchetts work
can now be seen on the stage!
York based theatre company, 'The Dreaming' will be doing an adaptation of
Terry Pratchetts novel 'Eric'. The book has been adapted for stage by
Scott Harrison and Lee Harris, and will play from 3rd - 26th of July.
It will be held in a real 13th Century Castle in the heart of York.
