It appears that it's protest time at Funny.co.uk.
Apparently The Sun newspaper has decided to drop cartoons from it's
publication. Presumably this is to make way for more banal celebrity
gossip and topless women? Funny.co.uk reader Nigel Sutherland sent us this
heart-felt letter, and hopes that you will join him in
rising up to fight the evil cartoon oppressors. We say: Go for it!
"Dear Funny.co.uk,
British humour has long been conveyed via different mediums, one of which
has been the single-panel gags in newspapers and magazines.
Sadly, this has been a dying art form in recent years, but up until now,
The Sun newspaper has continued showing such humour daily in its pages. Great
gags every day from the pens of such cartoonists as Mark Wood, Wing, Sax, and
many many more.
Now The Sun has dropped this feature too. Please join me by writing an
email to deborah.keegan@the-sun.co.uk
She's the cartoon editor, and I know she will see all emails protesting
about the decision to drop the feature, and will pass them on to her editor,
Rebekah Wade. (The "new broom" sweeping clean).
Yours Sincerely
Nigel Sutherland"
