A few days ago Funny.co.uk reported that The Sun newspaper was to drop
traditional 'Single-Frame' cartoon captions from it's pages. We published
an open letter from top cartoonist Nigel Sutherland (whose work features in
several British tabloids), asking the editor to reconsider this decision.
Well, no sooner had we done this when the Sun announced to us that the
cartoons are to return as of next week. We imagine the last Sun board
meeting went something like this:
Editor: Item one on the agenda - Dropping cartoons from our
pages. All in favour say Aye.
All: Aye!
Editor: Ok. Passed. Now, items two on the agenda -
Restore cartoon to our pages. All in favour say aye.
All: Aye!
Editor: Ok decision passed. Now, item three, is there any way we
can get three breasts onto Page 3 rather than the traditional two?
anyone?
So problem solved. Next week, Funny.co.uk solves The National Debt
problem and the complex Palestinian Conflict issues in Gaza and the West
Bank.
