Although the self-styled comedian Aaron Barschak is about as funny as
running over small kittens with a tank; he is (technically) a comedian, and as
such we probably should cover his exploits within our pages.
As you may have read, Barschak had run as an independant candidate in the
Brent East by-election. As predicted, his performance was not quite a
"landslide victory", obtaining just 37 votes. His 37 votes put him 1,081
votes behind the winning Liberal Democrat candidate Sarah Teather, although
admittedly
he was a serious threat to Labour's effort. Barschak has said he
was "pleased" with his 37 votes.
Other mirthical candidates of note in the by-election include the Monster
Raving Loony Party's Alan Hope, who picked up 59 votes.
