The Police were called by Jim Davidson recently, after Eastenders star Steve
McFadden (Phil Mitchel) allegedly made threats against him. The incident
started when Davidson made a dirty joke about his girlfriend Lucy
Benjamin at a charity gig in Southampton, where she had been in the
audience.
Jim Davidson and Lucy Benjamin had been appearing together in the
pantomime Aladdin in Southampton. After the show Benjamin told McFadden
about the joke, at which point Davidson was put on the line and McFadden
allegedly made threats against him.
Davidson called the Police regarding the incident, who took statements, but
he later dropped the charges.
A Police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that a complaint was received
regarding a threat made against a 50-year-old man. A statement was taken from
him but he didn't wish to proceed any further with the complaint and no further
action is being taken."
* Editor - For those who are not regular readers, a word of
explanation. The editorial team at Funny.co.uk Ltd have relativly little
respect for 'comic' work of Jim Davidson (he rates very lowly on the
"Bernard-Manning-o-meter"). As such, we celebrate our respect for him by
'flying him upside down', in the same way as protesters against the American
flag. Glad we cleared that up.
