First Dates (Adam Sandler, Drew
Barrymore) is up for four nominations (alongside X2) – Best Male & Female
Performance, Best On-Screen Team and Best Movie.
Bringing Down The House (Steve Martin,
Queen Latifah) is vying for three – Best Female Performance, Best Dance
Sequence, and Best Fight.
Starsky & Hutch (Ben Stiller, Owen
Wilson) has only got two nominations but I would put money (someone else’s, mind
you) on the film winning the second award – Best On-Screen Team, and
Best Kiss.
But it is Pirates Of The Caribbean which sets its
eye (patch) on half-a-dozen Golden Popcorn Buckets – Best Male Performance, Best
Villain, Best Comedic Performance, Best On-Screen Team, Best Movie and Best
Breakthrough Female. Johnny Depp up for three of them thanks to his staggering
Keith Richards ‘homage’.
Other nominations include a Best
Male Performance for Bill Murray (Lost In
Translation); Best On-Screen Team for Jack Black and theSchool of Rock “Band”;
Best Comedic Performance for Ellen Degenerous (Finding Nemo); Best Dance Sequence for
Seann William Scott (American
Wedding) and Best Kiss for Jim Carrey & Jennifer Aniston (Bruce
Almighty ). Is it me or did that just read like a list of the
losers?
