The Evening Standard reported that Neil Morrisey, (Men
Behaving Badly, ‘Lord of Laugharne
’) was arrested at a Los Angeles airport this weekend by US
customs for being "rude and drunk".
Morrisey found himself in a long queue at customs with all the hoi-polloi of
his Virgin Atlantic flight and was understandably tetchy after being cramped,
under-attended, and dehydrated in the tortuous conditions of Upper Class for the
duration of the twelve hour journey.
The Customs and Immigration Department held him for roughly an hour before
releasing him without charge and allowing him to continue his trip into the
United States.
Morrisey apologised for his bad behaviour and said, "I was a bit exuberant in
the line and I did have something to declare - too much red wine."
