In a recent European poll conducted by Reader’s Digest, Britain came
out on top as the nation with the best sense of humour.
The survey was taken across 19 EU countries and 30% of the opinions from the
4,000 people involved ranked the birth place of Euro-loved comedies such as
Benny Hill as the funniest of the lot. In second place was Italy with
15% and then France tied with Spain with 7%. The Swiss were last.
Unfortunately Britain came out as the third rudest (Germans first), in a low
third place for our efficiency (Germans again) and joint seventh place with four
other countries in the sexiest stakes (Italians first).
Sounds like half the cast for Mind Your Language.
