Comedian Vic Reeves has been dropped from his role
advertising car insurance. The news follows weekend reports in which he crashed
his vintage Jaguar into a stationary car in Maidstone before careering into a
bank and hitting a fence.
Mr Reeves was formerly employed as the voice of the nodding dog
in the Churchill adverts, also starring his longtime comedy partner and friend
Bob Mortimer.
A spokesman for Churchil said they took road safety "very
seriously", and had decided to withdraw the adverts.
Reeves was arrested and charged with drink driving and leaving
the scene of an accident. He is due to appear before magistrates on the 7th of
April.
Here at Funny.co.uk we very rarely make public safety
announcements, but please, don't drink and drive.
Note: We would also like to point out that Mr Bob Mortimer was
not in any way connected with the incident.
