Vic Reeves (whom we all remember from I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of
Here! of course) has been convicted of leaving the scene of a drink driving
accident. As a result, he has been banned from driving for 32 months and ordered
to do 100 hours of community service.
The comedian admitted the offence at Maidstone magistrates court on Thursday.
He has also pleaded guilty to drink-driving. The accident included Mr Reeves
crashing into a stationary car whilst three times over the legal limit.
The driving ban will be reduced to two years if he pays £200 to complete a
drink-driving rehabilitation course. Reeves told the court he planned to take
part in the course.
As he left the court with his wife, Nancy Sorrell, he said he was relieved
the case was over.
"I'm completely remorseful and penitient and it was a stupid, stupid thing to
do."
