Bob Geldof is set to announce the full plans for Live 8 today - an
international concert in the style of 1985's Live Aid.
The current speculation says that there will be at least two simultaneous
concerts, one in the USA and one in London's Hyde Park.
The US leg is rumoured to be hosted by Graham Norton, following on from his
recent success in the Comedy Central Show The Graham Norton Effect. The USA leg
includes acts such as Outkast, Alicia Keys and Mary J Blige.
The UK gig is likely to be presented by Jamie Theakston and Jonathan Ross,
introducing U2, Robbie Williams and Paul McCartney.
Geldof himself has said "Once more into the breach. What started twenty years
ago is coming to a political point in a few weeks. There is more than a chance
that the boys and girls with guitars finally get to tilt the world on it's
axis."
The official line up, dates and all that jazz will be revealed later
today.
