Courtney Love is having a rough time of it. Not only has her recent breach of probation earned her another stint in rehab but her slip off the wagon may also have caused her to get impregnated. The worst of it? She declared at the weekend that the child was Steve Coogan's.

Having stated to a friend of hers, "Tell me honestly...what does it make me look like that I slept with Alan Partridge? … it's embarrassing," it seems that she is less than impressed with her latest dalliance.

The couple supposedly teamed up when they were both staying at the Sunset Marquis hotel in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, recently.

However, a rapid and stern rebuttal from Coogan's people declared the story to be "nonsense" and today Love's 'people' have returned refuting that she is pregnant at all nor has she had any kind of torrid sexual affair with Coogan.

The chances are Love made a glib, off-the-cuff comment ("Yes, I am pregnant with Steve's baby") to some hack journalist who then twisted a story out of it.

It's probably for the best because could you imagine what the baby would've looked like?
