When they heard that their arch rivals at Oxford University were
getting themselves a highly influential figure of British comedy, namely Armando Iannucci, as a
guest lecturer, the powers that be at Cambridge must have felt a little left
out.
Which in our cynical little world must be the reason that comedian / actor /
director / presenter / writer / uber-multi-talented comedy figure Stephen Fry
will be presented with an honourary doctorate from Cambidge University next
tuesday.
Fry was educated at Cambidge himself and was a member of the famous Cambridge
Footlights comedy group who won the coveted Perrier award in 1981.
