Scottish comedian Billy Connolly appeared as the guest of honour on Friday at
the opening of a new adventure playground and conservation area in the Scottish
village of Tomintoul.
It was the "Big Yin's" first public appearance since a recent back
operation. While he doesn't usually make such appearances he was swayed by
the many drawings and letters sent to him by the children of the area.
Connolly, who's Candacraig Estate in Strathdon is nearby, knows the area
well and said that he was thrilled to be asked to perform the official
opening.
Similarly comedian Jim Davidson has also had many drawings and letters
inviting him to Brixton late at night for the grand opening of his own
head. Unfortunately for humanity he has not yet accepted their kind
invitations.
