There is an element of risk to Anna Crilly's
performance. Done badly, her somewhat distant, verging on standoffish, stage manner
could potentially push an audience away and the material could almost be "too weird" for
some.
Fortunately she strikes a great balance and the persona forms
the perfect basis for a unique and innovative performance. Originality is
the word of the day, so unless you took part in childhood sporting
competitions with potatoes, have a partner with no feet or are prone to
impromptu jelly fish impersonations, don't expect anything you can personally
identify with!
A great new act who dares to be different and deserves to go far.
