Nick DoodyNick Doody looks like such a nice guy – almost totally unsuited for today’s world of stand-up where a physical oddness or quirky mannerism is required to get an audience laughing prior to any kind of delivery. Doody is quite normal looking.

His material, though, is anything but ‘normal’; he is as intensely political as Mark Thomas delivering a refreshing blast of thought provoking comedy rather than the ‘easy laugh’ playground smut and innuendo that a lot of comedians tend to use (which, in its own right isn’t necessarily a bad thing).

Doody enjoys the danger discussing the darker issues of life. He’s a brave man to deal with such contentious topics but gets away with it because he is not offensive at all but incredibly funny with it.

Venue: Capitol Arts Centre – Horsham

Date Of Show: September 19th 2004

Place on bill: 2nd Act
