Tom Price looks like he’s just
come straight off Country File; with his foppish quiffed, blonde hair,
rustic brown jacket, wide-eyed, toothy smile and terribly posh dialect. He could
probably only be more so if he carried a hunting stick and had Ben Fogle on a
lead.
And that’s the point of view for
his material (not Ben Fogle); his boarding school upbringing, class culture
clashes, a genial naivety concerning life issues and transposing subculture
clichés into his ‘upper class’ bubble.
His delivery is calm, confident
and easy-going; his clean cut, youthful appearance makes him pleasant to watch
and he does not employ any kind of physical comedy or eccentric mannerisms to
distract from his material or compensate for the lack thereof.
Price is a charismatic, competent
and very funny comedian.
