If ever you
ever felt intimidated by a comedian towering over you on stage then don’t sit in
the front row when Greg Davies is on the bill; the man is huge! A twenty stone
Titan of comedy.
Davies realises that this could
be slightly over-awing for his audience and so uses it to good effect to
introduce his comedy and ‘bond’ with the crowd. With that, Davies comes over as
quite an eclectic comedian; starting off with a totally surreal game of ‘this or
that’ for audience participation and then switches to a standard set of comical
stories and funny observations. But really, to call this behemoth of comedy
‘standard’ is an understatement; he uses the full stage to deliver to every
corner of the audience (and covers it within a couple of strides) and presents
his material with an enormous grin.
Davis is a gentle yet gregarious,
giant of a comedian in stature and ability.
