The Babycham Funny Women Comedy Awards begin next week in London. The competition has seen a 33% increase in contestants from last year on the whole, but is still severly lacking in Glasgow and Liverpool.

Last year's Glasgow showcase was one of the strongest and the adjudicator had a hard job deciding who should go to the final. It is the first year for the City of Culture and despite publicity in local papers and on the airwaves the competition is still lacking in contestants.

So, come on girls!

The winner will receive £2,000 in cash and the runners up each £500. The criteria are that you must be at least 18 years of age and performing for 3 years or less. Material must be original and the producer's decision is final.
