The BBC are on the lookout for new talent for the 'BBC New Comedy Awards
2004'. This is the ideal launch-pad for anyone in the UK with a cutting
edge new stand-up act. If you're a budding stand-up star, then send a tape
of your performance by 3rd Sepetmber, and if you're funny enough they will
invite you to a regional heat.
The really, really funny entrants will reach the semi final and final on BBC7
and be featured on a Radio 4 programme based on the final. The really,
really, really funny are even in with a chance to be featured on Radio 1's new
comedy show The Milk Run.
BBC Talent are offering prize money of £2,000, along with the chance to
develop your writing with the BBC. It's all part of BBC Talent and BBC7's
commitment to igniting raw comedy talent.
Entrants must be over 18, eligible to work in the UK and have done your first
gig less than three years ago. Your act could be anything, so long as it would
work on radio, and is funny of course.
