Articles will be judged by the Funny.co.uk team. Our decision will be final, and not subject to bribes in any shape or fashion. Honest!

We have a few simple guidelines that we would like everyone to follow, in addition to those that appear on the submission page itself:

1. Articles should be at least 500 words in length.

2. Please check your punctuation, grammar and spelling. Although we reserve the right to perform small editing corrections if we spot something you haven't.

3. The article actually has to be ABOUT something. Either a topical subject, a recent news story, a recurring theme in your life, a short story - whatever. So long as it has some sort of point.

4. Basic reviews (of TV shows, films, stand-up gigs, etc) and press releases do NOT currently qualify for payment. However, reviews that go a little bit further and really impress us may be considered for payment.

5. We'd like it very much if it made us at least smile, you know? Unless, of course, the article is about comedy, in which case it can be as serious as you like.

6. Please try to choose the most appropriate area of the site when submitting your article. Articles submitted to the "Stand-up" and "TV, Radio & Film" areas qualify for payment, subject to the above rules.

7. Articles that are written for self-promotion, or to subtly advertise the authors own services or products do NOT qualify for payment. Such articles must still be interesting and/or funny in their own right and "payment" is made for them in the form of free promotion on Funny.co.uk, not money.

8. Please do NOT post your article again if we have not added it in a few days. In some cases it may be several weeks before your article is added, assuming that we judge it suitable for inclusion on the site.

9. Payment will be made by PayPal within 30 days of the article being published on the Funny.co.uk site.
